Dayong is the founder and principal architect at Penda China, adhering to the ethos of eco-design and putting forward the concept of “less is love”, his work has been widely recognized by the local and international media. Representative projects include the Hongkun Art Museum - named one of the ten most respected museums in Beijing by Time Out magazine. He has also won several international awards including “Emerging Architect of 2016” by Architizer A+ Awards in the United States. In 2015、2017 and 2019, he was selected as one of the most influential Chinese designers by AD100, he also acted as the China judge in the international competition Evolo in 2018. As the youngest of the ten architects, he was invited to participate in the China house vision exhibition.
As a partner and of Penda China, a teacher of Chinese architecture, and the core leadership of the team, Wan Shuyan has been keeping Penda China on the track of core architectural elements during its diversified development with her in-depth understanding of architecture. Her rich team management and marketing experience has greatly enhanced brand value and significantly boosted Penda China’s growth and development. Her projects such as Genesis Art Community, Florence (Dalian) Culture & Art Exchange Center, MINI Living and Narcisse beauty chain triggered wide media coverage and positive response from the society. Her professional attitude and correct understanding of the Chinese market also constitute a vital part of Penda’s brand development.
Born in Beijing, Zhu first graduated from Landscape Architecture major of Beijing University of Technology, and then went to France to study interior design. before Zhu join in Penda China she had worked with the renowned German landscape company. With a great sense of aesthetics cultivated by her professional education background and down-to-earth working attitude, she participated in project design works while assisting the partner with team management, project planning formulation and implementation. She was also responsible for contacting the media, and optimizing and carrying out brand communication. She has participated in implementing and publicizing projects like Dangdang Store, MINI Living, Florence (Dalian) Culture & Arts Exchange Center and Genesis Art Community.
As a master graduate in architecture of Shenzhen University, Leng holds both degrees in landscape architecture and architecture. With great passion for design and profound artistic culture, he has won plenty of awards in competitions both at home and abroad. He is also earnest and responsible in work, and excels in computer skills and freehand sketching. He has participated in a range of projects from schematic design all the way to construction, including Florence (Dalian) Culture & Arts Exchange Center, luxury housing in Taizi Bay, Shenzhen, and the renovation of Gingko Art Center, playing an important role in perfectly representing these projects.
Zhang graduated from Central Academy of Fine Arts and was conferred the title of Outstanding College Student in Beijing. Her award-winning graduation design, micro architecture "Weaving Mountain", is now a collection of CAFA Art Museum. She joined Penda China immediately after graduation and has participated in many architectural and interior design projects. As an important designer in our team, Zhang possesses great aesthetic taste and strong execution power. She has contributed to the success of many projects, such as Narcisse beauty chain and Egret Hotel, which are all well-received by our clients due to their distinct design and commercial practicality.
A graduate of California College of the Arts, Domi is talented in interior design and sensitive to color and shape. He won the first prize of excellent graduation design and joined Penda China immediately after graduation. Playing an important role in design, he has participated many influential projects including MINI Urban nests and MINI Living cabin. Domi also has excellent skills in communicating with others and establishing authority among both coworkers and team members.
Meng got her bachelor degree from California College of the Arts and master degree from University College London. She is a highly energetic and creative designer with unique taste for patterns and colors. Her postgraduate research orientation Bio-integrated Design was very forward-looking. It is a new field in bionic architecture grafting biotechnology to architectural art and will exert great influence on future arcology strategy. As a key member of our team, she has participated in and chaired many significant projects.
